SRT Marine Systems plc runs a hybrid working model, therefore, the role is commutable from such places as Bristol, Malvern, Tewkesbury, Newport, Filton, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Swindon, Reading, Stroud, Worcester, Swansea, Bridgend, Cwmbran, Bath, Hereford and the surrounding areas.
Role Overview
We are actively recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager - System Installation to proactively lead and drive our small but growing Systems Installation Engineering support team. Your role will be to guide, direct and support our field installation engineers and sub-contractors to ensure that installations are correctly architected and designed from an electrical & mechanical perspective and consistently implemented to the requisite standards.
Your role will range from ensuring that a radar system is correctly installed, to specifying and overseeing the installation and commissioning of a multi-camera CCTV site security system. Your responsibility as our Engineering Manager - System Installation is to ensure all the individual components that comprise our system are installed correctly and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
* Perform hands-on installation design engineering tasks for the installation & implementation of various systems and MEP components of our maritime domain awareness systems.
* Develop technical installation designs, schematics and procedures internally with our team, and review those proposed by sub-contractors.
* Provide remote guidance and support to our field teams to ensure correct installation and commissioning and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
* International travel to customer sites worldwide to audit installations and assist with the continuous improvement of local sub-contractor performance and quality.
* Work to ensure consistent quality, safety and environmental compliance standards.
Role Requirements
* ESSENTIAL - Experience working in a building, construction or installation environment.
* ESSENTIAL - Hands-on pro-active approach to problem solving with a background in fieldwork and hands-on system integration and associated electrical & mechanical engineering.
* ESSENTIAL - Experience of; and understand the installation of systems such as electrical systems, generators, building control or security systems.
* ESSENTIAL – Team management experience, adaptable, controlled and with the ability to “make it happen”.
* Proven experience of design engineering, implementing and commissioning complex MEP installations.
* Proficiency with tools and software for system design, MEP layouts, and diagnostics.
* Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with MEP systems such as HVAC, gensets and power systems, building and site systems such as CCTV security systems.
* Willingness to travel internationally (Asia and Middle East) as required to meet project demands.
* Excellent attention to detail and technical documentation skills.
* High level of computer literacy, including industry tools such as CAD.
