An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, dedicated and dynamic team of OTs, physios, therapy practitioners and assistants.
You will be welcomed into a team that offers opportunities to develop your skills within a supportive environment and you will work alongside expert clinical, professional and operational leads and specialist staff in the rehab units. Alongside your clinical work, there are opportunities to develop your leadership and management skills. You will support less experienced staff, act as a clinical educator for occupational therapy students, manage your own complex clinical caseload, and work with the team leads to ensure the provision of a high quality rehabilitation service for the local population.
The person in this rewarding role works within adult inpatient rehabilitation service, treating a wide variety of conditions, primarily in orthopoedics, frailty, amputees, neurology and medical. The inpatient therapy team works across Bognor Regis War Memorial, Arundel and Salvington Lodge Intermediate Care Units. The post is based at Bognor Hospital and may occasionally include working at the other sites.
Our ideal candidate will enjoy working with primarily older people, be a good problem solver, have excellent communication and clinical skills, and want to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team. The service is continually developing and improving to meet the needs of our patients and commissioners.

To manage a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions.
To formulate and deliver generic and specialised treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment and reasoning skills.
To treat all patients with respect and courtesy, maintaining dignity and respecting individual needs and differences, both physical and cultural.
To be involved in the support and supervision of staff at Band 3 to 5 level.
To act as a clinical educator for undergraduate students within own professional area.
To receive and deliver internal training and keep your own Personal Development Plans up to date.
To take part in audit and evaluation of the service in which you work.
To assist the team with service development initiatives, including implementation of competency frameworks.
