Do you want to join a dedicated and friendly team who support a wide strategic remit? We aim to support academics to have the funding they need to deliver excellent research, with a focus on major and strategic research funding bids. We do this in a number of ways: by identifying, communicating and facilitating major and strategic Research & Knowledge Exchange (KE) development opportunities; by building a strategic RKE pipeline working with faculties; and by providing specialist knowledge, expertise and intelligence on our core funders so that we can focus our efforts and maximise the RKE income.
This exciting role will work across the whole team portfolio, directed by the Head of Research and KE Development, to ensure we develop and deliver an effective service that supports achievement of excellent research outcomes. You will support the Strategic Research & KE Development managers across their portfolios around international, UKRI, charitable and place-based funding, as well as supporting the Research Growth agenda through work to develop and maintain a pipeline of activity and funding opportunities in strategic areas. You will also have the opportunity to take ownership and management of specific funding calls and ensure these are effectively communicated across the institution. This role is to provide maternity cover.
R&I provides comprehensive support throughout the research and innovation lifecycle, from first ideas through to commercialisation and industry partnerships. The teams provide invaluable expert advice, RKE management infrastructure and support to ensure delivery of the University’s research and knowledge exchange strategies. This is an opportunity for you to join us and become part of a team which provides an expert framework to deliver increased research performance across the University.
The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), fixed term basis to provide maternity cover. Job share arrangements may be considered.
Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
The university is committed to allowing its employees to work to a hybrid model with a combination of working on campus and remotely, where possible. This role has been identified as a role that could work to the hybrid model and if successful your manager will discuss these informal arrangements with you.
