Purpose
As Assistant Project Manager, you will take on and manage tasks that have been allocated by the Project Manager to help develop ScottishPower Renewables (SPR’s) pipeline of utility-scale solar sites.
Responsibilities
Project managing feasibility assessments, design stages, securing grid and land agreements, stakeholder consultation and the commercial development of project business cases. You will provide input to the environmental impact assessment process, including preparation of environmental statements and planning applications for our projects.
Liaising and coordinating with external suppliers and contractors to ensure delivery specifications are met, providing inputs on tender assessments and liaising with stakeholders to ensure development activities are progressed in a timely manner. You will provide input to all commercial agreements and contracts, ensuring risks are mitigated whilst assisting the Project Manager with preparation and presentation of investment cases.
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate (as minimum) Project Management capability, possess a Planning/Environmental qualification or an Engineering discipline with an understanding of Solar farm design principles. Possessing Environmental Impact Assessment/Strategic Environmental Assessment knowledge and awareness, you will hold knowledge of local and planning processes and have developed negotiation and influencing skills. With an ability to help develop high-quality environmental impact assessments and deliver high-quality planning applications/consents, you will be familiar with the impacts of construction on the environment.
