Role Overview: The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with a variety of learning needs. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs, including students with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and social-emotional needs.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide feedback on progress.
* Collaborate with teachers and specialists to modify and adapt lessons, materials, and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Monitor students’ progress and provide regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
* Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment to encourage student independence, confidence, and participation.
* Provide support during breaks, lunchtime, and extracurricular activities as needed.
* Assist in managing student behavior and ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.
* Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide activities.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with additional learning needs (desirable but not essential).
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students' growth and development.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Adaptability and a proactive approach to meeting the needs of students.
* A willingness to learn and engage in ongoing professional development.

Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, or other special educational needs.
* Knowledge of specialized tools and technologies that support learning for students with disabilities.

* A degree or qualification in education, child development, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
