We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals who have excellent negotiation and communication skills as well as a flair for problem solving. You should also have an RTPI accredited degree or a degree in a related subject and be working towards, or eligible for, licentiate or full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute as well as experience of working within a busy planning environment either within the public or private sector. More specifically: Planning Enforcement Working within the Planning Enforcement team, you will be responsible for investigating, gathering and recording information accurately in order to assess and take appropriate action against a wide range of alleged planning breaches. You will also provide advice on all aspects of planning enforcement to officers, Councillors, developers, site owners and relevant community groups. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing an enforcement caseload and taking enforcement action. The team has a strong track record of enforcement as we recognise that it underpins the work of the entire service and provides confidence to customers. Planning Policy Working within the planning policy team, you will play an important role in the preparation of the Local Plan and other policy documents, including research, policy formulation and participation in consultation events and independent examinations. The team is currently working on the Dudley Local Plan which will shortly undergo an Examination in Public. This will be a fantastic opportunity for you to be involved in setting the strategy for growth and the policies that will serve the area for the next 15 years. You will also be involved in the preparation of supplementary planning documents, masterplans and development briefs. You will provide advice on planning policy issues to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders - including elected members, developers and government agencies. You should have experience of working within a planning policy environment.
