Our client is a global leader, recruiting for a Purchasing Officer to support their organization at all stages of their supply chain.
Purchasing Officer Roles and Responsibilities:
* Support the organization at all stages of the supply chain, ensuring a steady flow of materials throughout the site.
* Generate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for key suppliers.
* Assist in Requests for Quotations for new business.
* Be responsible for negotiating and agreeing on pricing with suppliers.
* Raise and manage invoices and EC orders/enquiries.
* Obtain and transact into MRP the weekly expedite reports, acknowledgements from suppliers, and review monthly shortage reports.
* Identify and report to both operational staff and the Purchasing Manager any risks in the supply chain that may impact the ability to manufacture to plan.
* Ensure Quality standards are rigorously applied and all health and safety legislative/policy requirements are met.
The ideal Purchasing Officer will:
* Have previous demonstrable experience in buying/MRP.
* Possess a broad understanding of the requirements of high-volume buying within the electronics industry.
* Be experienced in the negotiation of prices with suppliers.
* Have a full understanding of Quality standards.
* Be able to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers.
* Be numerate, accurate, and have attention to detail.
* Have excellent PC skills, including MS Office and Excel.
* CIPS accreditation (desirable).
Working Hours:
* 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday
* 08:00 - 13:30 Friday
