We are currently recruiting for a Service Manager for a manufacturing and engineering business with a stellar reputation as an employer of choice. This Field Service Manager role will take overall control of the performance of 35 Service Engineers through 3 Supervisors who run day-to-day operations. The Service Manager will be concerned more with strategic planning than day-to-day supervision.
Field Service Manager - Role and Responsibilities
1. Performance management of the UK service department
2. Coaching, mentoring, and motivating supervisory staff and their teams
3. Budget and forecasting responsibility
4. Strategic planning
5. Customer visits when appropriate
6. Recruitment of staff when appropriate
Field Service Manager - Education, Skills, and Experience
1. At least 5 years at Service Manager level
2. Strong mechanical engineering knowledge
3. High level of commercial awareness
4. Strong PC skills on common Microsoft Office packages
5. Exposure to ERP/MRP systems
6. Experienced in budget preparation and forecasting
7. Strong organisational skills
