Highly Specialist Systemic Family Therapist - The Darwin Centre - Band 8A (Part time - 30 hours per week)
We are seeking talented and experienced staff to work within our Inpatient Unit. We currently have a vacancy for a Highly Specialist Systemic Family Therapist at the Darwin Centre.
The Darwin Centre embraces a whole team approach to delivering a therapeutic service for younger people from the age of 12 – 18 years. This will be a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring individual that wants to enhance their knowledge and skills within a young person inpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide a qualified highly specialist systemic family therapy service.
2. Co-ordinate, develop, and deliver a variety of family and systemic interventions.
3. Research new practices and apply evidence-based approaches related to family treatments and the involvement of service users and carers.
4. Offer advice and consultation on clients’ care to colleagues and non-professional carers.
5. Supervise others in the field of systemic therapy.
6. Participate in assessments of patients referred for treatment and consult with multi-disciplinary colleagues regarding the family treatment component of each patient’s care.
7. Communicate sensitive information regarding assessment, formulation, and treatment plans to clients, family carers, and others.
8. Monitor and evaluate progress during the course of both uni- and multi-disciplinary care, providing appropriate reports.
9. Assist in the management of the team caseload.
10. Work in partnership with other disciplines and maintain links with statutory and non-statutory and primary care agencies as appropriate.
11. Provide appropriate care for clients not engaged in treatment, including psycho-education and risk assessment.
12. Act as care coordinator, responsible for the formulation of care plans and provision of care packages.
13. Maintain video equipment and train colleagues in its use.
14. Contribute to the resolution of conflicts between staff and maintain a well-functioning multi-disciplinary team.
15. Ensure regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development in accordance with relevant guidelines.
