Key Responsibilities:
1. Work as part of an Agile team, developing high quality software, meeting the business requirements and satisfying quality, performance, and security requirements.
2. Undertake research as required and attend conferences and events, documenting afterwards to extend the team knowledge.
3. Support software and diagnosing problems with code that may have been written by others.
4. Advise on technical solutions, and get involved in the delivering or receiving of training.
5. Document decisions and progress in line with corporate and team project management.
6. Provision of accurate estimates and commitments to delivery of work, leading projects if necessary.
7. Any other tasks typically associated with the Software Development Lifecycle.
Key Technical Skills:
8. Experience of deploying software using web servers and container technologies.
Understanding of OOD, OOP and design patterns.
9. Experience of Tomcat, IIS, Apache, Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, Red Hat and Solaris.
Ability to write maintainable, extensible and scalable code.
10. Commercial experience developing distributed enterprise-scale systems
Soft Skills:
11. Good problem solving skills
12. Good communication and collaboration skills
13. Ability to mentor junior members of staff
14. Ability to communicate and work with Software Engineers, UX and UI Designers
15. Ability to communicate ideas and develop strategy through presentations, demonstrations and specifications
16. Advantage: Understanding of HR and Payroll concepts.
