The Role:
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team, providing essential support to students in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Hemel Hempstead. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs. Experience in care or education is beneficial but not essential; a positive and empathetic attitude is what truly matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting students with personal care needs, including dressing, feeding, and hygiene.
Assisting with classroom activities to foster engagement and learning.
Building positive relationships to provide emotional and social support to students.
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
Promoting independence by helping students develop life skills.
Maintaining accurate records of care and progress and liaising with teaching staff and parents.
Collaborating with the school team to deliver tailored, person-centred support for each student.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience in care, education, or supporting individuals with additional needs (preferred but not essential).
A caring and empathetic approach to working with young people.
Confidence in managing behaviours that challenge or supporting individuals with complex needs.
Comfortable providing personal care to children or young people.
Flexibility to commit to shifts and adapt to the school's needs.
A valid, clear DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
