About Our Client
Shropshire Fire & Rescue is currently going through a period of change and improvement, achieving consistently high marks in external audits. We operate from 23 strategically located sites across Shropshire. The Service has 3 whole-time stations located in Shrewsbury, Telford and Wellington. On-call firefighters operate from 22 stations. The Service headquarters is in Shrewsbury and the Training Centre is in Telford.
More than 500 full-time and on-call firefighters protect 493,000 residents throughout Shropshire & Telford and Wrekin and attend some 4,000 emergencies annually.
Job Description
* Lead and manage the strategic direction of asset management, fleet management, and facilities services to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with all regulations.
* Develop, implement, and review Asset Management Plans, including estate, fleet, and technical services strategies.
* Ensure the successful delivery of capital investment programs, including property and fleet upgrades and maintenance.
* Provide leadership and professional advice across all operational areas, including energy management, sustainability, and statutory compliance.
* Manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial regulations.
* Prepare and present reports on asset and facilities management to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
* Foster collaboration with partner organizations to maximize asset utilization and best value delivery.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have:
* A background in leadership of Facilities Management, Estate Management and Fleet Management. You would have professional accreditation gained with RICS, IWFM, CIOB, or equivalent experience.
* Strong understanding of relevant legislation, procurement processes, and sustainability practices across estate, technical and fleet management.
* Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Ability to prepare and present strategic reports to senior management and external partners.
* A proactive and creative problem-solver, capable of developing long-term solutions in a dynamic environment.
What's on Offer
