A Snapshot of the Solos Residential Support Worker
As a Solo worker, you will be required to work across the Northwest based on referrals. You will be a lone worker, following a 2-day in/4-days off shift pattern. While on shift, you will support young people in developing practical skills needed for independent living, such as cooking and budgeting. You will also encourage young people to engage with education, training, or employment.
You will receive a sleep rate of £74.84. You will do approximately 10 shifts per month. The Salary of £31,616.00 is inclusive of the sleep rate.
About You
The young people are at the heart of everything you do day-to-day, from updating risk assessments to supporting them in their meetings. You need to be resilient, empathetic without judgment, and possess good interpersonal skills. You must be able to resolve issues and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities. Additionally, you need to be IT literate to produce daily and monthly reports for the young people. Most importantly, you should have a passion for supporting young people in their transition to independence.
* Previous experience supporting (not caring) people with support needs, families, or young people to gain independence.
* Travel is essential, so you must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle insured for business use.
* Must be prepared to travel in the Manchester area.
* Thorough knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
* Have or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification.
* Good interpersonal skills.
