Service Development Manager, Grade 14 (£51,522 - £53,607) Secondment / Fixed Term Opportunity up to 31 March 2026 Croydon is a vibrant borough, and we are seeking a dedicated manager to help develop a service that supports potential and existing providers to deliver care and support services to our residents. Croydon’s Adult Social Care and Health services are on a journey to improve the independence, choice and control available to residents in need of care and support. This includes through Direct Payments, for locality-based care and support. Micro-enterprises are in a unique position to deliver individualised care and support services to our residents. Some of these services easily identifiable as ‘social care services’ (e.g. personal assistants), but others are less obvious (e.g. providers of leisure-related activities, therapies, day opportunities, etc). The post holder will be the council lead for the Community Micro-Enterprises Project. This is jointly funded with Croydon Almshouses, aiming to stimulate the development of micro-enterprises in the community, to support adults with eligible care and support needs, and self-funders to maintain their wellbeing and independence. This will include: Identifying, engaging with and documenting current micro-provision capable of meeting social care outcomes within Croydon. Understanding current market demand and gaps to target micro provider-development. Supporting the development and continued sustainability of micro providers capable of meeting social care outcomes within Croydon, through a framework of information, guidance and training. Developing an options appraisal for the accreditation of personal assistants and micro-enterprises and supporting micro-enterprises to meet necessary standards for safety and quality of care.
