We have an exciting new opportunity for a Logistics Operational Support Manager to provide planning, administrative, project management and operational support to the Head of Logistics with the day-to-day management of our Wincanton contract. Wincanton is our leading logistics provider who ensure a seamless delivery across our brands.
What is the core mission?
Your mission will be to truly understand the ins and outs of our Wincanton logistics operation. We're looking for someone naturally inquisitive, who enjoys digging deep to gain a comprehensive understanding of how everything works. You'll analyse transport KPIs, identify trends, and work closely with the Wincanton team and our Head of Logistics to implement effective solutions and drive continuous improvement.
You'll be instrumental in ensuring our weekly cost, customer, and review meetings are productive, effective and directly influencing our strategic direction. Data integrity is paramount, and you'll play a critical role in validating on-time delivery and ePOD data, guaranteeing seamless communication and transparency between Marshalls and Wincanton.
As the first point of contact for both Wincanton and our internal Marshalls teams (Sales, Customer Services, and Operations) you'll play a vital role in swiftly resolving any issues that arise and ensuring communication flows smoothly. Your excellent organisational skills will be essential as you'll be managing meetings, taking minutes, and tracking action items to keep projects on track. You'll also have the exciting opportunity to lead internal logistics projects relating to the Wincanton contract, giving you a real platform to make a difference!
This role will empower you to identify operational inefficiencies and work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that have a real impact. You'll be a key driver of improvements, directly contributing to a team passionate about exceeding customer expectations and delivering a best-in-class service.
What are the mission-critical skills?
* Proven experience in a logistics management role within a medium-to-large operation, preferably in the retail sector
* Demonstrable understanding of P&L management, transport KPIs, and their relationship to financial performance
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships, hold individuals accountable, and influence at all levels
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
* High level of integrity, demonstrating trust, transparency, and a commitment to achieving results
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present information effectively
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Bonus points if you have:
* Project management experience
* A Transport CPC qualification
