Job title: Principal Engineer - Configuration and Release Controller

What you'll be doing:
* Supporting the production of the configuration management plan
* Support the design and maintenance of configuration management and release processes
* Discharging configuration management activities in accordance with the plan
* Identification, production, release and delivery of software products to both internal and external customers
* Support the definition, implementation and maintenance of stakeholder configuration management requirements
* Support configuration audit activities (i.e. FCA/PCA)
* Coaching of the configuration management team
* Interfacing with the platform configuration management team to ensure that platform configurations are accurately maintained
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)
* Relevant Configuration Management standards (i.e. IEEE-828, ISO-TR-19759)
* Practical knowledge of the implementation of configuration and release management
* Configuration Management toolsets (i.e. Micro focus Dimensions)
* Release Management
Desirable:
* Registered as CEng (or can demonstrate eligibility and commitment to register for CEng within 12 months of appointment)
* Systems and Engineering Lifecycle models (i.e. V or Waterfall)
* Configuration Auditing
* Process design and development

The Configuration Management Team:
In this team, you will be part of a new capability within the business. This means that you will be involved in significantly influencing the direction the team takes. You will be involved in defining, establishing, approving, and maintaining the configuration and release management processes for products and supporting artefacts for the Dreadnought program with the support of a team of engineers.
This role also provides opportunities, which include maintaining continuous professional development and supported learning. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
