We're looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based the Thames Valley region. Location : Flexible within the Thames Valley region, Reading to Oxford Hours : 45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us In this role, you will be working on the Thames Water framework who deliver multiple projects across their operating area on both clean and dirty water sites. These projects are part of Thames Water regulatory commitments to improve effluent quality and are part of the AMP8 spending period. This role will mainly be supporting projects in the Thames Valley and Oxford areas. What will you be responsible for? As an Environmental Advisor, you'll be providing guidance and support to the project delivery teams to maintain environmental legal compliance and support delivery of the Kier building for a sustainable world framework. You will assist in maintaining conformity with Kier and Client Environmental Management Systems and support the Kier Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks business division and clients meet their sustainability targets and deliver works in line with the Kier and client sustainability policies. Your day to day will include: Act as the first point of contact for project and design teams concerning environmental management coverage Assisting/ lead the development of the project environmental management system Identify and support project teams to obtain and comply with regulatory and client requirement Identify, develop and facilitate environmental training Conduct environmental audits and site inspections and support third-party audits What are we looking for? This role of Environmental Advisor is great for you if you hold: Demonstrable experience in environmental management and sustainability on construction projects Experience in assessing environmental aspects and impacts, developing mitigation proposals and implementing environmental management procedures to avoid or reduce environmental effects Good knowledge and practical experience of implementing and improving EMS's certified to BS EN ISO 14001 Knowledge and practical experience of statutory environmental requirements Experience of liaison with stakeholders including statutory bodies Full driving licence We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
