This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, performance-driven individual to be part of our Croydon Leadership Team.
The post holder will hold responsibility for the New Croydon Neurodevelopmental Service and play a significant role in developing this Team.
The role would suit a clinician experienced in Neurodevelopmental presentations with strong knowledge in ADHD and/or ASD and a passion for service development. We welcome applicants trained in Clinical Psychology, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, Social Work, or Nursing.
This role includes performance managing the quality of the Neurodevelopmental Service as it develops, having oversight of neurodevelopmental waiting list, holding clinical and management supervision, investigating and monitoring SUI's, being responsible for the team budget, ensuring that practice within the team meets relevant standards, ensuring high levels of operational effectiveness, and evaluating and making decisions about treatment options.
Main duties of the job
* To take day-to-day operational management responsibility in the planning, directing, and management of Croydon's Neurodevelopmental Service.
* Provision of strategic and operational leadership.
* The post holder will ensure that service delivery is efficient, effective, evidence-based, needs-led, as well as service user and carer focused.
* The post holder will provide clear leadership, in partnership with the Service Manager, to ensure access to timely assessment and crisis intervention by well-led and motivated staff.
* There will be opportunities to liaise with wider networks and colleagues in other services, working together to ensure optimum patient outcomes.
* To hold clinical responsibilities including assessing and holding a caseload of young people.
Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
* Recognised Professional Qualification in Social Work (DipSW/CQSW), Mental Health Nursing (RMN), Psychology or any allied medical profession.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* RN Child.
* Management course.
Experience
* Experience of leading and managing change to deliver organisational goals.
* Experience of working within the NHS, or a related public or voluntary sector organisation.
* Experience working with young people pre/post neurodevelopmental diagnosis.
* Desire to develop leadership and management skills.
* Experience of service development.
* Knowledge/experience of Looked After Children.
* Experience assessing young people with Neurodevelopmental presentations including co-morbidities.
* Experienced in ADHD and/or autism assessments.
Knowledge
* Specialist clinical knowledge relevant to the service, including evidence-based practice.
* Understanding of the legislative and quality frameworks that govern the provision of mental health and social care.
* Significant and advanced knowledge of neurodevelopmental presentations, particularly ADHD and/or ASD.
Skills and Abilities
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop and manage key relationships at all levels.
* Understanding of public sector management and NHS Mental Health services, Social and Primary Care services.
* Ability to develop close collaborative working relationships between individuals, teams, and organisations.
* Excellent report writing and presentation skills and proven ability to evaluate services and present findings to stakeholders.
* Leadership skills, especially the ability to lead and manage change through influence without direct management.

Salary: £59,490 to £66,239 a year per annum inclusive of HCAs.
