An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sub Contract Manager to join a growing team in Belfast.

You’ll be responsible for the management of subcontracted suppliers within a specified Thales bid, product, or project. Said suppliers may be developing and delivering complex, high risk, high value equipment or services normally under specific terms and conditions in lieu of purchase orders.
Responsible for subcontract management across the end-to-end life cycle (e.g. development – bid – contract – execution) or a part thereof (e.g. only execution) depending on the business organisational model or the business case.
You’ll have close engagement with suppliers to ensure that requirements are executed in accordance with technical, program, cost, and performance (quality and delivery) requirements.
Although the role may be assigned to a particular business or location, the jobholder may be requested to support the function’s activities in other businesses or locations across the UK.
Other Responsibilities
* Promote early Procurement and Supplier engagement in Bids, Projects, and Product design.
* Contribute to the Acquisition Strategy and Plan.
* Responsible for providing accurate and updated information to the Procurement Summary Sheet (PSS) for their designated suppliers.
* Assist in Purchase vet planning.
* Work with key stakeholders to ensure the release of procurement specifications, statements of work, and requisitions to support project delivery.
* Validate target costs and all savings per work package.
* Contribute to the Procurement Risk Register, ensuring appropriate risk is captured and Supplier mitigation actions are undertaken and completed. Analyse costs of products and systems to identify focus areas or opportunities for reduction.
* Work with Technical teams to resolve design issues impacting on Supplier performance.
About You
* Have demonstrable understanding of the procurement lifecycle, procurement strategy, and supplier management in best practice environments through bid, project, product development, and production phases.
* A good technical awareness of the end-to-end procurement activities (including experience of project management), with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and assess opportunities.
* Possess excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills with experience building and managing strong, long-lasting relationships across internal stakeholders, partners, and suppliers.
* Demonstrable experience working within a complex, multinational, multi-site organisation and working with different cultures - experience within Space, Defence, Aerospace, or other comparable industries is desirable.
