This is a remote position. Financial Controller £50,000 - £60,000 Remote (UK) Our client is an innovative Fintech company in the financial services sector, widely recognized for their cutting-edge CRM platform that powers market-leading products for both residential and B2B customers. Due to continuous year-on-year growth, they are expanding their finance team and seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial processes, provide strategic advice, and contribute to the company's future success. The Opportunity: As the Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Managing Director and the CFO, overseeing group-level accounting activities for the business. You will play a critical role in redefining financial processes, managing reporting, and ensuring that financial operations run smoothly. This is a fully remote role, but applicants must reside within the UK. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Complete the month-end process, reconciliations, variance analysis, and produce consolidated management accounts for the group. Accounting Oversight: Manage all financial reporting, tax, and audit requirements, including quarterly and annual accounts, transactions (accounts payable to receivable), and operational finance. Process Development: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across the group, ensuring compliance and efficiency. Accounts Receivable/Payable: Oversee the full cycle of accounts receivable and payable, from invoicing to receipt. Payroll & HMRC Compliance: Manage the payroll function to ensure timely and accurate processing, and take responsibility for HMRC submissions, including RTI, PAYE, quarterly tax instalments, and VAT returns. Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the CFO on finance improvement projects and assist with ad-hoc requirements, including identifying cost-saving initiatives. Requirements Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA). Degree-level education, ideally in Maths, Economics, or a related field. Proven ability to improve financial processes and internal controls. Strong understanding of operational requirements and the ability to translate them into financial metrics, targets, and budgets. Experience managing financial relationships and being involved in commercial negotiations. Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling/budgeting experience are highly desirable. A proactive approach to cost-saving and rationalisation initiatives.
