Key Responsibilities:
* Support teachers in delivering tailored educational programs to students with SEND.
* Assist in the development and implementation of individual learning plans (ILPs) to meet students' needs.
* Provide one-to-one support for students who require additional help with their learning.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student engagement and development.
* Monitor and record students' progress and report back to the class teacher.
* Work with students with a range of disabilities, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience working with children, preferably in a SEND environment.
* Understanding of SEND legislation and best practices for supporting students with additional needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
* Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to supporting students.
* A minimum of a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working in a SEND school or similar setting.
* Understanding of specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dyspraxia.
* Training in specific SEND support techniques or interventions (e.g., Makaton, PECS, Team Teach).
