We are recruiting a temporary Assistant Green Keeper to help maintain a parkland golf course in the attractive setting of the Towneley Estate in the rural outskirts of Burnley. The course has an excellent reputation for quality and is managed in partnership with Burnley Leisure Trust.
Your duties will cover all green keeping activities including grass cutting, setting up the course, applying fertilisers, pesticides, topdressing and you will also operate and maintain a range of up-to-date machinery.
You must have an NVQ level 2 qualification in Green Keeping & Sports Turf Management (or equivalent qualification). Applicants with level 3 will be eligible for progression to grade 5.
Experience of maintaining golf courses and operating the full range of golf course machinery is essential. You must be able to deal with the public in a polite and courteous manner, work as part of a team, be physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions. You should be flexible in working hours and weekend work will be required for which overtime is paid.
