Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) is seeking to appoint two Specialty Doctors in support of Neurology Services providing clinical care of inpatient and outpatient patients under consultant supervision. The specialty has strong links with Leeds and there are potential opportunities for training placements in the tertiary treatment centre. The successful applicant will work within CHFT providing clinical services to the population of Calderdale and Huddersfield
Outpatient clinics are run from both sites with an inpatient in-reach service run across Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital.
Outpatient Work
• Support Consultants in the outpatient department, seeing new patients, patients on follow up and the delivery of minor operation procedures, all under consultant supervision. As the post holder develops, review of opportunities for independent working will be undertaken.
Inpatient Work
The post holder will be expected to take significant responsibility for supervision and management of inpatient referrals, under consultant supervision.
The appointee will be expected to be able to undertake all medical duties, assessing of ill patients, management of medical problems and liaison with relatives and other medical departments.
The duties are outlined in the timetable below. Your duties will include continuing clinical responsibility to the named consultants to whom you are responsible and the duties they will delegate to you shall be such as are consistent with your seniority and specialisation as a practitioner in this grade.

These are two full time posts providing 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), but applicants wishing to work part-time are also encouraged to apply and job plans will be adjusted accordingly, and by negotiation with appointees.
