About the Job
I am 37 year old woman, with loveable character, living in March. I have partial hearing loss and sight loss, diabetes, epilepsy and autism. I love to shop, swim and go bowling. I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me to live an independent life. The hours are flexible and can be discussed at the interview stage. I am looking for my PA to accompany me to and from appointments & meetings, complete care plans and assessments and take notes on my behalf.
Previous experience in a health care setting is preferable, however, training will be given for the right candidate, to enable them to expand their experience further.
Responsible to: Employer – My mother is my representative
Main Tasks:
Support with personal care including washing, dressing/undressing etc.
Assistance with paperwork, bills and any other admin duties.
Support to access the community and social activities of the employer’s choice.
Support with domestic duties around the home
You have a responsibility as an Employee to report all accidents to your employer immediately. You must record all details in the accident book.
You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident.
To provide encouragement and understanding to ensure the young lady has a better quality of life.
To carry out any other duties or activities connected with the role which the employer may reasonably request.
Person Specification:
Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
Some experience of sight and hearing impairment would be beneficial to this role
Driver – with full UK Driving License
Be professional, friendly and have willing disposition.
Ability to empathise.
Good communication skills.
Possess a strong sense of responsibility.
To have good listening skills and be able to provide emotional support.
Able to work flexibly and follow instructions accuracy.
Be patient, supportive and caring.
To possess motivational skills but to also respect employers views and wishes.
