About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Commercial Director will lead the development and execution of a commercial strategy designed to deliver sustainable growth, increase profitability, and facilitate a smooth leadership transition.
The role demands a combination of strategic insight, operational focus, and a dedication to maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Create and deliver a commercial strategy aligned with long-term business objectives.
Sales and Market Expansion: Lead the sales team, build strong client relationships, and explore opportunities in new and existing markets.
Brand and Marketing: Strengthen the brand’s presence by honouring its heritage while embracing modern approaches.
Governance and Decision-Making: Enhance systems that ensure clarity, accountability, and effective decision-making.
Leadership Transition: Contribute to a structured succession plan, ensuring continuity and success in the next phase of leadership.
Required Skills Have senior commercial leadership experience, ideally within a heritage brand, SME, or family business.
Demonstrate a strong track record of delivering measurable sales growth and profitability.
Be experienced in profit and loss management and confident in delivering financial objectives.
Possess hands-on leadership skills, inspiring teams and personally managing key client relationships.
Be skilled at aligning company culture and values with business goals.
Show a clear commitment to sustainability by embedding responsible practices into commercial strategies.
Experience in textiles or related industries, as well as familiarity with leadership transitions in family businesses, would be advantageous.
