The Cake Crew are seeking an experienced Health and Safety and Environmental Manager to join our team at our site in Bala, North Wales. The role will incorporate elements within the Company to maintain management and controlled of the Health and Safety and Environmenal functions of the business. You will be responsible for ensuring that our operations align with and are compliant with industry legislation & developing systems to support best practice, our insurance requirements and recommendations, ethical standards, and internal policies. Key tasks and responsibilities are: - Developing a Health and Safety agenda and standards for the site. - Engage with senior management and stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture and implement improvement plans. - Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety, and Environmental legislation, keeping the organisation updated on industry changes. - Actively designing, implementing, managing and auditing all Health and Safety training. - Ensure all Safety Requirements are in place for all Audits and Inspections - Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, ensuring timely reporting of incidents and implementation of audit recommendations. - Completing and enusiring all Risk Ass / Safe Systems of Work are in place and followed at all times. - Dealing with Liability Claims and contact for Company Insurers. - Liaise with occupational health to ensure mandatory health checks are carried out and the occupational health of our employees is given the highest priority. - Adherence to Site Safety Plan - Maintenance of Site Statutory Inspections log - Develop clear Roadmap for reducing carbon footprint (Positive company image)- ESOS and Manufacturing 2030. - Develop and conduct training across the whole site for reducing carbon foot print thus supporting the roadmap - Own the corrective action log and develop training to support any remedial action needed. Plan for eco-friendly product development - Waste control and monitoring - Identifying and owning the Health and Safety budget delivery and the relevant Health and Safety KPIs, providing analysis and insight to focus on improvement. - Any other task commensurate with the role as required. Skills and Experience: - Previous Health and Safety experience in an FMCG, manufacturing or food environment. - NEBOSH diploma or equivalent - Good influencing ability and a compliant and pragmatic attitude to Health and Safety. - Experience of writing risk assessments and procedures, and accident investigation. - A clear understanding of industry specific protocols and legal requirements for EHS compliance. - Experience of delivering H&S training, communications and employee engagement. - An understanding of the sense of urgency associated with FMCG operations.
