We are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives at a high-risk industrial site. This role is vital for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of multiple processes, including hazardous materials handling and heavy machinery.
The role will involve working with a supportive Senior Leadership Team and you will have the opportunity to implement cultural improvements towards Health and Safety by working closely with all members of staff.
In this position, you will work closely with a supportive team to implement best practices in health, safety, and environmental compliance while fostering a proactive safety culture.
Key responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager:
1. Develop and manage health and safety strategies that address unique risks within an industrial manufacturing environment.
2. Promote a positive, hands-on safety culture, actively engaging with employees across all levels.
3. Work closely with leadership to maintain and elevate health and safety standards.
4. Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments in areas with high environmental hazards, including solvent-based processes and large-scale machinery.
5. Provide guidance on health and safety performance, tracking key metrics and reporting progress.
6. Oversee incident management, conducting thorough investigations and implementing preventative measures.
7. Mentor team members, with the potential to develop an advisor reporting structure over time.
8. Deliver training and ongoing support to reinforce a culture of continual safety improvement.
