Our client is looking for an experienced Real Estate Paralegal with a strong background in commercial property. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of matters, including Landlord and Tenant law, commercial leases, and drafting key property documents such as leases and transfer deeds.

Please note, this is a fully office-based role, however there may be some flexibility around this in the future.

Type of work:
* Manage client files on a day-to-day basis, covering a broad range of real estate matters, including leasehold acquisitions for greenfield, rooftop, and in-build sites; deeds of variation; agreements and deeds of surrender; assignments; licences to occupy; freehold acquisitions; supplemental leases; tenancies at will; break notices; rent deposit deeds; deeds of easement and covenant; and customer licences.
* Draft documentation using precedent templates or by producing first drafts based on heads of terms and client instructions, negotiating commercial terms and legal wording with external lawyers to finalise documents for engrossment.
* Review and negotiate first draft documentation prepared by other lawyers.
* Compose clear and concise correspondence to clients, external surveyors, and other lawyers.
* Investigate registered and unregistered titles, raise requisitions where necessary, ensure compliance with restrictions, and advise on title defects, potential risks, and rectification procedures.
* Adhere to client procedures, including:
* Managing and updating intranet portals
* Forecasting, reforecasting, and claiming milestones
* Preparing pre-engrossment and post-completion reports
* Scanning completed documents to the client intranet and updating deed schedules
* Manage completions, including SDLT/LTT and HMLR applications where appropriate.
* Attend weekly client review meetings and provide project updates.
* Undertake project work within client deadlines, providing reports and attending meetings or conference calls as required.
* Maintain strong working relationships with client personnel and, if requested, spend time on secondment at client offices working alongside in-house lawyers.
* Prepare and deliver training seminars on relevant topics at the client’s request.
* Attend and participate in client marketing events.
* Use financial and productivity tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Promote the Firm and its full range of services during networking and events.
Is this the position for you?
* Professional legal qualification (Law degree, Paralegal, CILEX) is desirable but not essential.
* Experience in commercial property law.
* Ability to independently manage a caseload.
* Strong drafting and proof-reading skills.
* Proficient in IT and online systems, including Microsoft Office, legal document management systems, and online portals/datarooms.
* Commercial awareness with a practical and financial understanding.
* Confident communicator, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders.
* Strong academic background.
* Excellent interpersonal and marketing skills, with the ability to build relationships for the team and firm.
* Team player who can collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong negotiation and organisational skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure, particularly in Property law.
