They are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer, you will be working alongside their established engineering team. As a Shift Engineer you will be on site to provide both reactive and planned maintenance within the data centre.
Key responsibilities as a Shift Engineer:
1. To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Plant and associated electrical systems.
2. Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
3. To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the electrical aspects of the PPM and plant.
4. To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all electrically related reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests.
5. To co-ordinate initial actions associated with all requests from the client.
6. To co-ordinate visiting specialist sub contractors associated with electrical aspects of the PPM schedules.
7. To respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the electrical services aspects of the contract as required.
8. Electrical fault diagnosis associated with the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
9. Repair of electrical systems and controls associated with Heating and Ventilating Building Services.
10. Repair and maintenance of lighting and distribution systems.
11. Assist other trades as necessary.
12. To attend monthly site meetings as required.
13. To provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.
14. To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client.
15. To proactively work towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions be they Mechanical and Electrical, Like for Like replacements, Project works, FM Soft Services etc.
Qualifications required for this Shift Engineer role:
Essential
1. City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent; or
2. 17th or 18th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) Registration or recognised equivalent; or
3. Electrical Apprenticeship - gained within the building maintenance industry.
Desirable
1. City & Guilds Part 3 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent.
2. Experience in computer PPM management systems (Concept 300).
3. Experience with Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
4. Experienced in High Voltage switching.
5. Basic Mechanical experience/knowledge.
As a Shift Engineer you would have Previous experience in:
1. Critical Environment Experience.
2. Working knowledge of “Permit to work” systems.
3. Understand and interpret technical drawings/processes.
4. Willingness to become HV approved and to switch both HV and LV systems.
This Shift Engineer role is on a continental shift basis covering both days and nights in Slough.
