Job Description:
This position is responsible for facilitating the centralized administrative and technical functions associated with grants, contracts, and other agreements from external funding sources that support research, clinical trials, and other sponsored activities at Intermountain. This position will specialize in contract management and is responsible for efficiently and timely drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and resolving disputes and other contract administration issues with sponsored agreements (industry, federal and state government, non-profits, etc.). The position acts as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external sponsors.
Essential Functions
1. Serves as a subject matter expert for grant and/or contract management, providing expert advice and guidance on research proposals, awards, contracts, and administrative processes.
2. Provides guidance on budget preparation and design with Investigator for grant, contract, and subcontract applications.
3. Reviews proposals, grant requests, and/or contracts for completeness and assists with the adherence to required institutional documentation and deadlines.
4. Analyzes proposals, awards, and agreements for compliance and consistency with federal and state laws and regulations, institutional policies, research compliance restrictions and guidelines, financial and academic requirements, and agency policies and procedures.
5. Maintains a current knowledge of federal and state requirements, institutional policies, and procedures governing externally funded grants and contracts.
6. Requests additional and supplemental approvals from funding sponsors when required by a grant or contract, serving as an organizational representative for administering federal sponsored projects.
7. Negotiates terms and conditions with external entities for sponsored projects.

This is a 100% remote position; however, currently we are unable to consider candidates for remote opportunities in the following states: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Demonstrated professional experience within research administration and grants management.
2. Strong communication and organization skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment preferred.
4. Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
5. Must have solid judgment and capacity to exercise discretion to resolve ambiguity and promote effective solutions.
6. Must have a strong commitment to constructively contribute to a customer service environment, providing professional, timely, efficient, and courteous service to the university research community.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Education will be verified.
2. Experience in contract administration and negotiation.
3. Experience with industry clinical trial agreements, subaward agreements, and other agreements related to sponsored projects (e.g., data sharing, grant agreements).
4. Comprehensive understanding of federal and state laws and regulations governing sponsored projects, including compliance with institutional policies, sponsor requirements, and regulatory standards.

1. Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
2. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
3. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use for typing and accessing needed information.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience: $29.66 - $46.72.
