The Role
We have an amazing opportunity for a Head of Planning to create a new global planning function which will be a key enabler of vital business process in line with the company’s strategic objectives and drive for Scalability.
We will look to you to drive best practice across the organisation through effective leadership and build a robust and high performing team. The role will focus initially on the establishment and embedding of a new planning team and associated processes with the aim of putting these at the centre of JFD’s Operation.
The Head of Planning will own the Global SIOP process and will work collaboratively and cross-functionally to balance Demand and Supply signals in line with business priorities. The role will be accountable for the company’s ERP within the context of all types of manufacturing and production work, Master Schedule, all production schedules and the data integrity associated with high quality outputs from each frequently looking for opportunities to find efficiencies and better ways of working.
Role Accountabilities
1. Develop and Execute a Planning Strategy which meets the requirements of the job role purpose, including rolling out a global SIOP process, and establish a high performing Global Planning Function with best practice at the forefront.
2. Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Planning team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and providing room for development within the team.
3. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Proactively understand the changing environment and available AI tools in this space that could be applied to JFD.
4. Act as the Data Stewart for all data associated with the Planning function.
5. Oversee the efficient and effective execution of improvement and strategic projects across the function as well as influencing same across the organisation.
6. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that master and production schedules are prioritising correctly and meeting business needs.
7. Effectively and efficiently escalate concerns, conflicts and risks to Operations leadership where appropriate.
8. Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
1. Proven experience in leading and managing senior roles within an organisation and, particularly, within a complex manufacturing planning environment.
2. Experience of low volume, high mix manufacturing planning would be advantageous.
3. In-depth understanding of project planning and SIOP processes.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and mentor high performing teams demonstrating excellent leadership behaviours.
6. Clear ability to communicate complex topics in a simple and understandable manner.
7. Manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
