Role overview
We have a brand-new role at our clinic in Norwich. We are looking for a Personal Assistant & Medical Secretary. This will be 40 hours over 5 days per week.
Norfolk Newmedica opened in November 2021, covering a geographical region across Norfolk and Great Yarmouth areas, in line with Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB). Norfolk Newmedica has five Clinical Partners working alongside the Operations Director to ensure the smooth running of the service and to provide the highest clinical outcomes to our patients.
Reporting to the Administration Manager this role will support the senior management team with a variety of administrative and coordination tasks such as inbox and diary management, travel booking and email and postal correspondence.
The role will also undertake medical secretary duties such as audio typing medical letters and ensuring all correspondence is communicated with patients and stakeholders in a timely manner.
What skills and experience do I need?
You will have excellent IT knowledge, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to pick up new systems easily and confidently. You’ll be an accomplished touch typist and well versed in minute taking and audio typing.
Ideally you will have worked in a Health Care setting, in the NHS or another independent healthcare provider, and as such will be familiar with medical terminology within ophthalmology, particularly in relation to glaucoma.
You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be confident writing correspondence (email or letters) and with dealing with internal and external people over the phone. You will also have strong stakeholder management skills and will have the ability to foster good working relationships with all levels of people.
You'll understand the importance of confidentiality in all you do and will possess an empathetic nature in all areas related to our patients.
