Bishopbriggs Veterinary Centre, Glasgow, Scotland
Salary up to £50,000 DOE, Welcome Bonus up to £5,000 plus Relocation Allowance up to £2,000
Bishopbriggs Vet Centre in Glasgow is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our team on a permanent basis. Your caseload will be mostly first opinion dogs and cats with a small number of rabbits and guinea pigs with medical cases, dermatology, and surgical cases such as neutering, mass removals, and dentistry. We encourage you to work up the cases as far as possible/comfortable within the practice; however, for more challenging cases, we have multiple local referral facilities available. We are looking for a good communicator who is comfortable chatting with clinical staff and the public alike. The ideal candidate would enjoy working with a busy, friendly team.
Fix or flex – find your perfect balance
Our people are at the heart of everything that we do; that’s why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our people to be their best selves. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle, no matter what stage you are in your career.
The full-time position includes working 40 hours per week across 4 days with a 1 in 4 share of the Saturday rota (9am – 12pm). There is no on-call or out-of-hours requirement. This role will require you to work across the main branch and our Chryston branch.
We are a 2-branch practice, with the main branch having been recently refurbished. We are dedicated to providing top-quality care, and to help us deliver this, we have 3 consult rooms, a theatre, radiography, ultrasound, dental, and separate cat and dog wards. Our Chryston branch has dental x-ray with a dedicated dental suite.
We currently have 10 FTE Veterinary Surgeons - a mixture of part and full-time. We have 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 8 Support Staff. Multiple team members are currently working towards certification in small animal medicine and cardiology. Further learning and career progression is something we always encourage and support. We engage with local schools and are currently looking forward to being the shirt sponsor of the local school's girls football team.
Both branches are easily commutable from Glasgow city, so if you enjoy the city, it is ideal; equally, we are right on the boundary of beautiful countryside. The Campsie Fells are 15 minutes away, and you can be on the banks of Loch Lomond within half an hour. Some of our staff live in the lively West End of Glasgow (no need to give up a busy social life), while others choose to live in Loch Lomond National Park.
We recognize that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises, and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:
