Contract Type – TfL Engineering – Permanent

*Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Leader for Asset Condition, you will play a key role in supporting TfL in becoming a more efficient transport network and modernising the way in which their assets are operated and maintained. Day-to-day, your focus will be on working with stakeholders from across the entire Asset Lifecycle to drive a culture of continuous improvement, coordinate the implementation of engineering change and support the realisation of benefits.
Working within the London Underground (LU) Engineering delivery team, you will have the necessary expertise to identify, evaluate and develop new and innovative ways of managing our assets to deliver against our asset strategies, maintenance regimes, engineering strategies and drive us towards our vision of becoming a data driven organisation.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Identifying new opportunities to deliver business efficiencies and/or modernise maintenance.
* Developing engineering scopes of work and delivery plans to achieve the agreed outcome.
* Evaluating and documenting the potential business benefit.
* Supporting implementation and any corresponding business change, as required.
* Having a comprehensive understanding of business requirements throughout the operate & maintain phase of the asset lifecycle and in the management of emerging engineering risks which impact safety, reliability and availability.
Attributes
You will have a combination of the following attributes:
* Engineering ability including systems integration.
* Experience managing the co-ordination and output of multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
* Capability to facilitate continuous improvement within a maintenance organisation.
* Confidence to act as the single point of contact for one or more projects/deliverables.
* Strong personal behaviours necessary to deliver successful outcomes, in particular: collaboration, influence, communication & stakeholder management.
Working as part of the wider Asset Condition Team, in this role you will also provide professional leadership for the capture, management, analysis, visualisation and utilisation of asset information. Your knowledge of monitoring systems, condition monitoring technology and IT infrastructure will allow you to analyse existing business systems and processes, and improve TfL’s capability to efficiently utilise asset information.
Additional Useful Competences (Not mandatory for role)
* Facilitating understanding of data by displaying concepts, ideas, and facts using graphical representations.
* Developing and implementing plans, policies, and practices that control, protect and optimise the value of data assets.
* Planning, estimating and executing digital system development works to meet time, budget and quality targets.
* Coordinating information and technology strategies where the adoption of a common approach would benefit the organisation.
