The Associated Press is looking for newsletter supervisor to shape our largest daily send to our loyal audience, the Morning Wire.
We are looking for someone with deep and comprehensive news judgment and extensive experience with US digital habits.
Responsibilities:
Based in London, this editor will work closely with our London:based newsletter writer to curate AP's exceptional global journalism for this engaged and growing audience. You will curate and edit for this morning newsletter, and spot stories, photos and videos that we'll use in other newsletters throughout the week. You'll need line editing experience and solid headline writing skills. You must be comfortable sorting through a firehouse of content to identify and prioritize the stories we need for newsletter audiences.
This job will also entail working with audience metrics, and most importantly, we'll need you to be able to use your strong news experience to connect the dots in ways that will help us best serve our growing audiences. You'll work closely with other newsletter team members, as well as our partners in product, design, the engagement team and our global news desks.
You will report to the newsletter editor in New York, working closely on launching additional newsletters and refining the ones in our existing portfolio. You will have your hands on several other newsletters during the week as needed, wearing multiple hats, from production to editing.
Required Qualifications:

A bachelors degree or equivalent experience, such as at least five to seven years of experience as an editor, line editor or reporter at a daily newspaper, broadcast station, digital news outlet or AP bureau.

Advanced:level professional proficiency in both written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

The ability and willingness to occasionally work outside of business hours to meet the demands of a 24/7 news cycle.

A commitment to innovation and inclusivity while upholding APs standards for integrity and objectivity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Significant recent time working with US politics or general news for a large US audience, plus a high comfort level with international topics.

Hands:on analytics experience for a large news organization, and proven ability to connect the dots to solve problems for unique audiences.

Demonstrated ability to program for loyalist audiences; bonus if you have experience with app and alerting audience behaviors.

Strong teamwork and people skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse teams of journalists and designers across different formats, such as text, photo, video, audio, digital/social, interactive, and graphics.
