About the role
There are 3 positions available, one post fixed term until 28 February 2027 and two until 2 February 2028.
In this role you will be joining the project, STIM-HD: The use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) as a treatment for sarcopenia in people on haemodialysis.
This research is funded by a NIHR EME grant to measure the effect of a 3-month NMES programme on muscle strength, quality of life, and measures of physical function compared to standard care for haemodialysis patients.
Your role will be to coordinate the research activities funded by the NIHR EME grant including: delivery of the NMES intervention, performing physical measurements, blood and biopsy collection, data collection, summarising findings, contributing to research outputs, and working closely with the clinical research team to ensure study objectives are met.
About you
We are looking for a candidate with practical experience and knowledge of applying research skills and techniques, experience of conducting physical activity and lifestyle research projects, knowledge of intramuscular electromyography, experience of biopsy handling, and enthusiasm to contribute to the subject area (NMES for haemodialysis patients) and high quality research. A willingness to undertake necessary travel is also essential.
