Job Role: Lead/Principal Hardware & Firmware Engineer Work pattern: Hybrid, 2-3 days working in our Warwick office
Nicholas Associates has an exciting opportunity to work for an innovative & award winning client, within the tech industry.
We are looking for a talented and experienced Lead/Principal Hardware & Firmware Engineer to work on the hardware and embedded software for their exciting range of measurement products.
You will be a part of our strong research and development team which includes electronics hardware, embedded software, cloud & backend software and mobile app development. You will have the opportunity to lead the hardware/firmware team and manage their work packages. Although this is a technical role at the outset it could develop into a line management role for the right applicant.
Technically lead and mentor a small team, bringing your extensive experience to bear with hands on development and support for your team
Oversee PCB design and layout, ensuring best practice and high quality results
Define and specify test plans for hardware verification and production testing
Support environmental and EMC testing during qualification
Perform and oversee circuit analysis including power, tolerance, and reliability
A proven record of delivering digital electronics designs from architecture to production, preferably with a focus on battery powered, MCU-based applications
Be technically fluent in hardware, firmware and manufacturing engineering
Familiarity with standard interface busses such as SPI, I2C, UART & USB
A Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
Full product life cycle development & management
Experience with environmental and EMC testing during qualification
Production test development & operation
Some experience of analogue electronics design would be advantageous
Technically fluent in firmware, mechanical and manufacturing engineering
