This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who has the experience, skills and motivation to make a difference to the education of children and young people within the Stockton-on-Tees Borough.
The role of the specialist teacher for Inclusion will involve working with schools and their pupils to ensure provision meets needs and that individual outcomes are achieved, and progress is made.
You will be working with a dedicated, motivated and ambitious Children’s Services team & work closely with the Service Lead and specialist teachers to provide support to schools, identify and deliver training, plan interventions for pupils and deliver curriculum content. You will support schools to create and implement child-centred individual plans and assist the service in quality assuring provision.
You should be passionate about improving outcomes for Children & Young People with SEND and have recent and relevant experience within education linked to teaching children with special educational needs and disabilities and a secure understanding of the agenda and needs within this area. You should be able to offer challenge and support to schools, deliver interventions, and offer coaching and modelling opportunities to staff to enable them to meet the needs of their learners.
You should be able to manage and prioritise your own workload, be solution-focused, and have a commitment to your own professional development.
This post is fixed term until July 2026.
