The Role
We require a meticulous, detail-oriented Aftercare Coordinator to join our Aftercare team. This individual can be based in any of our regional offices: Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, or Stockton-on-Tees. You will be collaborating with all stakeholders including external clients, end users, consultants, and contractors, as well as with internal teams in Aftercare and Operations.
What you will be doing:
1. Ensuring that the Aftercare department fully implements and complies with company policies and procedures.
2. Monitoring and tracking defect periods for projects and assisting in coordinating defect responses at the end of rectification periods.
3. Ensuring defect notifications are addressed within the timescales specified in project contractual documentation.
4. Managing and minimizing the cost of defect rectification. In conjunction with the Commercial department, ensure recovery of costs from the relevant party wherever necessary.
5. Identifying recurring defects and poorly performing subcontractors and escalating within the business for intervention if appropriate.
6. Compiling information for the preparation of management reports and dashboards relating to Aftercare performance.
7. Conducting familiarization and quality visits to projects prior to completion and handover.
8. In conjunction with Regional Aftercare Managers and delivery teams, identifying and confirming if a notification is a genuine defect or a client-related issue.
9. Liaising and coordinating with out-of-hours service providers as required.
Who we are looking for:
1. Previous experience of coordinating Aftercare in a construction environment.
2. Good understanding of construction and related terminology, able to deal with defects on a wide range of building types across various sectors.
3. Knowledge of common defects and issues which arise on completed projects.
4. Able to deal with and interpret technical documentation.
5. Willing to travel as and when required.
