Our client is a leading manufacturing company based in Cramlington and is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer for their team.
The purpose of the role is to provide maintenance cover to the production departments, plant machinery, and site facilities to ensure that equipment is kept in good working order and that breakdowns are attended to in a timely manner.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) - Actively support and align decisions and actions with OHSE requirements.
2. Housekeeping - Maintain levels of housekeeping and hygiene as expected by customers and defined by the company.
3. Preventive maintenance - Conduct preventive maintenance activities in a timely manner, including:
1. Maintaining machinery to OEM specification
2. Identifying parts requiring further attention
3. Recording work carried out
4. Control maintenance tools, store and equipment
5. Work within ATEX regulations
4. Reactive maintenance - Use problem-solving techniques to deal with breakdowns, including:
1. Electrical fault finding, testing, and repairs
2. Prioritising breakdowns
3. Engineering out recurring issues
4. Supervising contractors working on reactive maintenance
5. Site projects - Participate in projects to design, trial, and implement improvements highlighted by the Management Team.
6. Quality systems - Operate within/to prescribed quality standards and systems at all times.
7. Flexibility - Maintain a flexible approach to work.
8. Continuous improvement - Actively engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
9. Training - Support development of new apprentices and co-workers through their own training.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
1. Formal Qualifications and Experience
1. Recognised apprenticeship
2. 18th Edition wiring regulations
3. Experience of working in a production environment
4. Operate MEWP - preferred but not essential, training will be provided
5. PASMA trained - preferred but not essential, training will be provided
6. Working at height - preferred but not essential, training will be provided
2. Specific Skills and Abilities
1. Working knowledge of AC/DC motors and drives
2. Working knowledge of PLC’s
3. Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
4. Computer literate including use of Office tools
5. Attention to detail

This role will be covered by 2 shifts and you must be happy to work both:
6am - 2pm
2pm - 10pm
