The Role: As Sales Director, you will play a critical role in driving our commercial success, leading our Business Development, Account Management, and Marketing teams. Your mission will be to accelerate growth by acquiring new customers, nurturing existing relationships, and positioning Flexitricity as the go-to partner for flexible energy solutions. You will develop and execute sales strategies for both front-of-meter (standalone and co-located batteries, gas peaking plants) and behind-the-meter (industrial and commercial flexible load or generation) energy assets. Key Responsibilities: Lead and execute sales and marketing strategies across front-of-meter and behind-the-meter markets, aligning business development, marketing, and account management efforts. Identify and pursue new market opportunities and strategic partnerships, expanding our customer base through targeted outreach and relationshipbuilding. Oversee the sales pipeline, including managing proposals, responding to tenders, and ensuring efficient use of HubSpot CRM. Shape the company's brand strategy and market positioning in collaboration with the marketing team, ensuring that our messaging resonates with key market segments. Communicate complex technical concepts in an accessible and engaging way, both internally and externally. Drive customer satisfaction and retention, ensuring that clients maximise the value of their flexible energy assets. Provide market intelligence and feedback to senior leadership, influencing product development and innovation. Represent Flexitricity at industry events, exhibitions, and panel discussions, showcasing our expertise and thought leadership. Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team, currently consisting of one Business Development Manager, two Marketing Managers, and a Senior Account Manager, with plans to expand in 2025. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture, supporting the professional development of your team. Ideal Skills & Experience: Strong understanding of the UK energy markets and the role of flexible energy in grid balancing and decarbonisation. Proven leadership experience (minimum 3 years) in business development, marketing, and account management. Ability to grasp technical energy concepts and communicate them clearly to diverse audiences. Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. A strategic thinker, with the ability to execute plans in a fast-paced, evolving industry. Strong team leadership skills, fostering collaboration and driving performance. Exceptional planning and organisational abilities, balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day execution. Desirable Skills & Experience: Degree in Business, Economics, or a scientific/technical field. Direct experience in battery optimisation or demand-side response sectors. Expertise in near-to-real-time trading of flexible energy assets. Personal Attributes: Proactive and highly reliable. Able to think and act independently.
