Software Verification & Validation Manager Location : Hybrid – 3 to 4 days per week on-site Salary : Circa £80,000 depending on experience Security Clearance : Must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship A leading defence technology company is looking for an experienced Software Verification & Validation (V&V) Manager to lead a newly formed team within its Real-Time Embedded Software Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the development and compliance of high-integrity software solutions, particularly in accordance with DO-178C standards. What You’ll Be Doing : • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of software engineers. • Oversee and monitor the development of Verification & Validation strategies, ensuring compliance with DO-178C objectives. • Work collaboratively across multi-functional teams to achieve project objectives within schedule and budget constraints. • Implement and improve automated and manual testing strategies to validate real-time embedded software. • Ensure full traceability of software requirements through design, implementation, and testing phases. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of V&V processes. What We’re Looking For : • Proven experience leading software verification and validation activities for high-integrity software. • Strong knowledge of software development processes, including requirements analysis, design, and testing. • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. • A passion for maintaining rigorous adherence to safety-critical software standards. Desirable Experience : • In-depth knowledge of DO-178C standards across all certification levels (A-D). • Experience in aerospace, defence, or other regulated industries. • Hands-on experience with model-based development and verification tools (e.g., Simulink, SCADE). • Familiarity with lifecycle management tools such as DOORS and LDRA.
