The Role: SHEQ Manager (Engineering)
Location: Burntwood, Staffordshire (Hybrid working in place)
Package: Salary £50-55,000 plus Health, Life Assurance, Training Support through to Chartered Status
We’ve got an interesting new role, and it’s working for a UK based international engineering business.
We’re looking to bring in a SHEQ manager to work from the Staffordshire based office and we’ve got a hybrid working model in place which would mean you would likely to be in the office the majority of the week, mixed with some time working from home. Office is conveniently located around the major motorway network, North East of Birmingham in Burntwood so good access via the M6 & M6 toll.
This is a broad role and you’ll own all aspects of quality, health, safety and environment and while they do have existing systems in place, your remit will be to assess and manage, along with enhance the proposition across the business and also setting expectation with the partner network who work in alliance with the company. Management position, and you’ll lead two reports directly on the QSHE team.
You’ll be supported by a network of project managers who will be present quite frequently on sites and they’ll report back any concerns and observations to be addressed by way of safety and quality issues.
Quality is going to be a key focus, and you’ll be the lead on the ISO9001, 14001 and ISO45001 accreditations so this involves audit, and then guidance through to certification.
Your background:
The role suits someone from a broad SHEQ management background within either the engineering or manufacturing sectors and you’d need to be able to point to detailed knowledge of obtaining / maintaining ISO 9001 and 45001 with 14001 being a bonus.
It’s expected you’ll have gone down either the IOSH or NEBOSH safety route but we’re keeping an open mind as to the level of qualification obtained as the company are a strong supporter of associated accreditations, so you can expect help as you continue down your chosen route, potentially through to chartered status.
