This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Dietitian who has an interest in working in a Community Adult Disorders Service. This role is a fixed-term 12 month position for maternity cover. The post holder will provide specialist dietetic input to adults with eating disorders in the community and in Day service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Job title: Band 6 Dietitian in Eating Disorders
Band: Band 6
Reports to: Lead Dietitian
Accountable to: Sheffield Eating Disorders Service Team Manager
Job purpose: To be responsible for the provision of high-quality dietetic service to a clinical caseload in eating disorders, using a high level of skills and knowledge as an independent practitioner.
Clinical Core Duties and Responsibilities:
* Determine/diagnose the appropriate dietetic treatment and develop effective management plans.
* Dietetic assessment and calculation of dietetic requirements of referred patients considering medical, biochemical, social, cultural, and psychological factors.
* Provide nutrition and dietary advice suitable to the patient’s medical, biochemical, social and cultural factors based on current evidence.
* Monitor and review dietetic care plans against outcomes.
* Ensure up to date and accurate records of all assessments and interventions.
* Ensure safe and timely discharge of patients.

Essential criteria
* 4 year BSc Nutrition and Dietetics or relevant degree with Post grad Diploma/ Postgraduate masters in Dietetics
* Current HPC registration
Desirable criteria
* BDA accredited clinical supervisory skills course for training students
* BDA accredited behavioural change, counselling, motivational and cognitive behavioural skills course
Experience
Essential criteria
* Substantial dietetic experience in a variety of clinical settings
* Evidence of team working
* Evidence of independent working
Desirable criteria
* Post registration experience in relevant clinical setting
* Experience of research and audit
* Supervision of junior staff and/or students
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
* Awareness of clinical governance and its implications for dietetics
* Competent skills in teaching and training other health care professionals and student dietitians
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills
* Ability to work as an integral member of MDT and as an autonomous practitioner
