This is a groundbreaking project that will see over 500 speaking parts being cast in order to create over 130 hours of audio with full sound design, original music and in Dolby Atmos. This team is responsible for the development, casting, scripting, production and post-production of these reimagined, yet faithful representations of the beloved Harry Potter stories. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING This role will be a key member of the Harry Potter audio production team, working closely with colleagues at Pottermore and our co-production partner Audible, with a focus on post-production. You will work alongside the Audio Post-Production Manager to oversee post-production processes, provide creative direction, feedback and approvals for post-production elements at all stages of the project. You will be expected to use your expertise and knowledge to ensure that all elements of post-production are meeting the high standards set and are faithful to the words of J.K. Rowling. Alongside this you will be asked to provide ad hoc support during studio recordings, giving expert feedback on the details of the Harry Potter stories and to respond to script questions in order to ensure the actors’ performance is consistent with the project approach. This role will primarily work on the Full-Cast Editions project, but there may be opportunities for this role to support the wider audio production team as required. SUMMARY OF DUTIES Act as a representative for Pottermore across the production in collaboration with our co-production partner and any 3rd parties Sound design, foley and mix: Ensure all sound design and foley is in line with Brand Guidelines and is canonically accurate Provide feedback on sound design in the audiobooks, giving suggestions and alternatives where appropriate Identify areas of sound design that need specific research or interrogation to make sure they are accurate and give suggestions for how this could be done Create documentation to support the external teams creating the sound design for this project Provide direction and feedback on the placement of the dialogue, narration, sound design, foley and music in the mix Location recordings: Identify points in the production where location recordings would be beneficial Research locations for possible recordings and attend those recordings where appropriate Music: Provide direction and feedback on music Manage approvals with the Brand and Franchise team at The Blair Partnership Provide support and feedback on other areas of production including studio recording PERSON SPECIFICATION Experience, Technical Knowledge and Skills 3 years experience of audio post-production, ideally with some work in audiobook or audio drama Excellent knowledge and understanding of Harry Potter books 1-7 Experience of working in a recording studio Adaptable approach with an ability to cope with change Ability to prioritise your workload across multiple workstreams and deliver against tight deadlines Collaborative and organised, with rigorous attention to detail Strong team-working skills and the ability to maintain good working relationships with internal and external teams WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US Competitive Salary Company Bonus Scheme 25 days’ holiday (plus 8 bank holidays).
