Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Food Production Supervisor to join our busy client in Dunstable. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the food industry and be able to work on both early shifts and late shifts.
The Shift Times & Pay Rates Are:
1. Early Shift:
Monday to Friday - 06:00 to 14:00
Pay Rate - £16.01 p/h
O/T Rate - £24.02 p/h
2. Late Shift:
Monday to Thursday - 13:45 to 23:45
Pay Rate: £18.09 p/h
O/T Rate - £27.14 p/h
This Role Involves:
1. Ensuring all supervisor food safety and health & safety checks are completed on time and in full and to raise any issues with QA immediately.
2. Managing and controlling costs, yields, and giveaway within the Packing Department.
3. Ensuring set KPI’s are met with the resources at your disposal and report reasons when not met.
4. Ensuring the Packing area runs at optimal output in accordance with production plans, whilst spotting opportunities for continuous improvement.
5. Developing, managing, and motivating staff.
6. Training staff.
7. Taking responsibility for the counselling and training and development needs, liaising with the ‘Assessors’ to ensure the business has an effective, multi-skilled, and engaged workforce.
8. Managing and controlling the data collection systems and monitoring processes, ensuring that all documentation and communication is processed and delivered to the cross-functional departments, as required on a timely and regular basis.
9. Ensuring 100% compliance with the product specification to deliver product within agreed quality parameters.
10. Maintaining excellent GMP standards at all times in the Packing Area, delivering quality standards required of customers and external audits, for example BRC.
11. Ensuring adherence to all health & safety policies.
12. Liaising with the Health & Safety Committee to monitor and develop procedures to ensure that the company has the appropriate structures, systems, and processes in place to meet its statutory health & safety responsibilities.
13. Opening and locking factory.
14. Starting up and shutting down production line machinery.
15. Putting in a 4-week staff rota to allow the Planning Manager to plan production accordingly.
16. Responding to emails.
17. Making sure the company mobile phone is fully charged before each shift.
To be considered for this role you must have / be:
1. Previously worked within a similar role at Supervisor or Manager within a food production environment.
2. Able to work flexibly week to week between early and late shift.
3. Strong communication skills.
4. A team player and be able to lead by example.
5. Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
6. Experience setting up and shutting down production line machinery.
7. Computer literate.
8. Strong organizational skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
10. Stock control experience.
11. Experience of BRC and customer audit requirements (desirable).
12. Experience using SAO software (desirable).
13. Experience of Lean manufacturing techniques (desirable).
