An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Joint Protective Services, Specialist Operations for a Police Vehicle Examiner.
Applications are invited from experienced automotive engineers for this unique and rare opportunity.
As a Police Vehicle Examiner, you will work in a small team of specialist Police Vehicle Examiners covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. Your working base will be at Cambridgeshire Constabulary Headquarters; however, you will be expected to travel across the three Forces in the course of your work.
You will be responsible for conducting mechanical inspections and producing detailed written reports on a wide range of mechanically propelled vehicles, which will have been involved in serious collisions. You will also be expected to perform inspections of suspected stolen vehicles to confirm their true identity.
You will be required on occasion to present your findings in criminal court proceedings. Additional training will be provided to support you with this.
