This is a permanent role, and you will work an average of 16 hours per week which will include some evenings and weekends, over a two-week rota (see attached). Lancashire libraries offer a vital service that provide spaces where people can feel safe and secure, where generations of all ages can meet freely in a public place and where learning can be encouraged. In our libraries we aim to provide everyone with access to quality resources, knowledgeable and customer-focused staff, and a welcoming library space. Your new role… We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focussed and digitally savvy individual to work within our team. Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with a range of partners and volunteers and be able to deliver a customer focused service. You will work with a team in offering a high-quality library and information service and you will support the planning and the delivery of a diverse range of events and activities. You will support and encourage customers to access online information and resources, for example accessing free eBooks and newspaper apps or helping someone find reliable information, such as applying for a passport. Sometimes, you will need to work at other locations and the role may involve some lone working.
