HOURS OF WORK: 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday
OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
The Regional Sales Manager focuses on securing orders for AG Paving & Building Products by meeting and influencing our targeted customer groups that include groundworkers, tier 1 contractors, housebuilders, and civil merchants / builder’s merchants. The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with the Regional Specification Manager to ensure we turn our specifications and those of our competitors into orders for AG. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the overall regional product group sales and profitability targets are achieved and exceeded.

About the role
Key Responsibilities:
* Secure orders for AG Paving & Building Products at agreed profitability targets.
* Hold project-specific meetings with the following customer groups: Groundworkers, tier 1 contractors, housebuilders, and civil merchants.
* Manage project opportunities via CRM and ensure we have all the correct information that will enable the conversion of this project to an order for AG.
* Use CRM to manage and plan your weekly customer-facing activity aligned to your targeted customer meeting count as agreed with your line manager.
* Track timeframes of projects and convert specifications for AG products while overturning those of competitors, working in conjunction with your specification colleagues.
* Enhance performance of customer accounts and develop strategies for maintaining and developing relationships with all key decision-makers across our customer groups.
* Identify potential customer accounts either not trading with AG or not trading to full customer potential and deliver plans for winning the business.
* Work as an effective member of the external sales team for AG.
* Collaborate effectively with all other functions of the business including internal sales, credit control, and dispatch to ensure the highest level of customer service.
* Work closely on core product sales with other members of the team to ensure sales are maximized wherever possible.
* Accurately forecast customer demand and requirements to enable effective operations planning.
* Feed into the business accurate and up-to-date customer product requirement programme details.
* Positively influence customers’ perceptions of AG and promote the company as the supplier of choice for concrete paving products.
* Act as an ambassador for AG and promote the company’s values at all times.
* Use LinkedIn to identify customers and increase AG brand awareness.
* Promote initiatives to the marketing team to support your regional activities.
* Carry out other duties as required by management that are within skill capabilities.

Required Criteria
* Knowledge of geographical territory
* Industry knowledge
* Experience of dealing with customers at the highest level
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Previous experience of MS Word and MS Excel
* Secondary education including GCSEs at Grade C and above in English & Maths.
* Can travel throughout GB as and when required
* Holder of a clean, valid driving licence.
* Living in location advertised
* Occasional overnight stays required
* 12+ months customer service experience

* Educated to Degree Level
* Previous knowledge and experience of Information Systems
* Existing relationships with a variety of key customers
* Comprehensive knowledge of all of AG’s paving products and their applications
* Knowledge of customers and potential competitors
