Job Summary
BHRUT provides care for the residents of three of the most diverse London boroughs. More than half of our 7,500 strong workforce are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and most live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge. We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county. The post holder will be directly working to improve our waiting times for urgent and emergency care by providing timely diagnostic services to the Emergency department. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running and development of the analyzers in the 'Hot' Lab in the emergency department at QH. The post holder will have an in-depth scientific knowledge of at least one Pathology discipline and will work with the clinical Leads, Blood sciences Senior BMS, and Leads to manage a small team of Associate Practitioners to ensure that all scientific, technical, and quality aspects of the urgent services in the Hot lab are maintained.

To perform technical work as required in a section of the laboratory under the supervision of senior BMS staff.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.

Education/Qualifications Essential

Experience/Knowledge Essential
* Proven post-registration experience working in haematology/Immunology/blood transfusion or equivalent experience.
Desirable
* Experience in Haematology Blood Transfusion or Immunology
